Unlike most conversions, Library Hall Lofts has a layout consistent
with a practical residential design. Sitting completely detached and
on it’s own block of land, the site is given aesthetic advantages not
often found in the city. Most importantly is that each home will be on a
corner of the building. This leaves two walls of oversized architectural
windows in all units allowing for sunlight from two exposures, as well
as New York City views from some units. Ceiling heights ranging from 9
to 18 feet, restored historic brick and the addition of finishes to accentuate these features exemplify the aesthetic advantage the building has over
other choices.
With these attributes to take advantage of, Hoboken-based architectural
firm Minervini-Vandermark was placed in charge of completing the design
to add to the buildings appeal and functionality. They’ve achieved this in
two remarkable additions. First, the new entrance and lobby will rise in
an atrium setting to the top of the building, and second, to cap off Library
Hall’s new function as a first class residence, an exquisite glass and
steel penthouse floor will replace the existing roof and offer four more
distinct, cutting edge homes. These improvements are sure to add a
unique quality and lasting value to the building. |
